How to normalize a gain trace (S21) programmatically2024-11-29T09:17:03+00:00

Just as a general rule, it is always good practice to include the VNA model and firmware version that you have, since some commands may not be available in older firmware and the latest firmware may not be compatible with some of the older model VNAs. That said, if you have a more recent version of the VNA firmware (something released within the last year or two), you can use this command:

Is there a way to recall a file that has been saved in a VNA cascaded setup to a standalone VNA?2024-11-29T09:16:40+00:00

How do oscilloscope and digital oscilloscope different?2024-11-29T07:51:14+00:00

Traditional oscilloscopes have simple circuit structures, narrow frequency bands, and poor scanning linearity, and are only used to observe waveforms.

Digital oscilloscope:It has a microprocessor inside and a digital display outside. Some products can display both waveforms and characters on the oscilloscope screen. The measured signal is sent to the data storage device through the analog-to-digital converter (A/D converter). Through keyboard operation, the captured waveform parameter data can be added, subtracted, multiplied, divided, averaged, squared, and root-mean-squared, and the answer number can be displayed.

So,oscilloscopes are more expensive than digital oscilloscopes.

What` s this?oscilloscope?2024-11-29T06:44:18+00:00

An oscilloscope is an electronic measuring instrument with a wide range of uses. It uses a narrow and high-speed electron beam to project invisible electrical signals onto a screen coated with fluorescent material and transform them into visible images, making it easier for people to study the changing processes of various electrical phenomena. It can be used to test various electrical quantities, such as voltage, current, frequency, phase difference, amplitude modulation, etc.

Where are oscilloscopes used?2024-11-29T07:51:09+00:00

Oscilloscopes are widely used in many fields: like electronic engineering, communication technology, computer science, electronic manufacturing, power systems, medical equipment, laboratories, etc.

What is storage depth?2024-12-02T09:13:03+00:00

The role of the oscilloscope’s maximum memory depth, is the larger the index, the better?

No, the oscilloscope’s memory depth selection has an automatic mode. In this mode, the oscilloscope will ensure that the sampling rate is sufficient and try to select the minimum memory depth

Memory depth is a concept that only digital oscilloscopes have. This parameter does not exist in analog oscilloscopes. The signal entering the digital oscilloscope passes through the front-end amplifier, then the analog-to-digital converter, and the collected signal is stored in the memory through the trigger system. Finally, the data is processed and displayed on the screen. In this process, the capacity of the memory is the physical medium that represents the size of the digital oscilloscope’s memory depth.
Memory depth (memory depth) is also called record length (record depth). The general index is written as 28Mpts, which means there are 28 million sampling points (pts=points). The memory depth, sampling rate, and waveform recording time satisfy the following formula: sampling rate = memory depth ÷ waveform recording time.

86142A be used for multimode measurements when it has a singlemode input ?2024-12-02T07:26:58+00:00

When trying to use the automeasure function on our 86142A , don`t find an input signal. is the 86142A a suitable instrument to use for testing multimode sources ?

Wherever the transition from 62.5um to 9um core is made, there will normally be high loss. The amount of loss depends on the beam profile (modal distribution) in the MMF. So the 86142A is not very suitable. There was a multimode model OSA as well, with MMF input.
